Mom Of Four Realizes Poker Dream

A mother of four, Donna Laduke, has finally realized a goal that she's been trying to reach for three decades.

Poker has been a part of the 41-year-old mom's life since she was 11, and she finally got to accomplish a goal when she joined this year's World Series of Poker.

Laduke traveled to Vegas, going against 8,873 other players after luckily snagging a seat in the WSOP from a satellite tournament.

"The winner of the satellite tournament I played in qualified to go play in the World Series," Laduke said. "I didn't win, though, but the guy who did couldn't go and we didn't know for a long time if I was going to get to go."

"There were as many people in that room playing as there are in my hometown," Laduke said when asked about her first reaction to the gaming room. "I was nervous for probably the first 30 minutes."

Laduke did amazingly, being a chip leader for the first eight rounds at her table on the first day. "I wanted to play smart until I got to the final table," Laduke said. "It's all luck until you get there."

Laduke however, was eliminated from the game when lady luck refused to give her a flush. She bowed out with her opponent having only one chip more than her.

Laduke says that she has plans of returning next year. "Next year, I'm winning."
