Video Poker Machine Displays
There will be several displays on the front of the machine. While different slots may display the information in different locations and include things others won't, the basic information will remain the same and be part of any modern video poker machine.
Credits Played or Coins Played
The "Credits Played" display shows how many coins are being bet on this particular spin. This display may also be listed as "Coins Played." Thus, if three coins are played, the display would indicate the number "3" for you information.
Credits The "Credits" indicator shows how many credits you have accumulated either through winning hands or through money entered into the machine. Each credit shown will reflect the denomination of coin you're playing.
For example, placing a $20 bill into a 25-cent machine will enter eighty 25-cent credits into your account. The indicator in Credits will read "80." If you play three credits, the Credits will read "77," and if that spin is a win for 20 credits, the Credits will read "97" to reflect the 20 coins won. If that $20 was entered in a dollar machine, then 20 credits "20" would be entered, or "400" on a 5-cent machine.
Playing the "Play One Credit or Play All Credits" button will automatically deduct those credits from your bankroll.
You can use your credits by either playing them through until the total is down to 0 (which means you've lost them all!) or hitting the "Cash Out" button, which will convert credit into actual coins and send them noisily tumbling into the coin well.
Winner Paid The "Winner Paid" indicator displays the amount won on the current spin. For example, if you make a Full House on a Jacks or Better machine playing the full five coins, you may win 40 coins. In this instance, the "Winner Paid" display will read "40."
Insert Coin When the machine is awaiting a play, the "Insert Coin" message will be lit. This lets the player know that he or she will need to drop some action into the machine to initiate play.
Error Code There is another indicator on the front of the machine, by the other indicators, and this is the "Error Code" indicator. Should the machine malfunction in some fashion, the "Error Code" indicator will display a code number that will alert the technician to the nature of the problem so he can address it and get your machine fixed. You won't typically see this in action since it will only light up when there is a problem.
